Addiction Services and Problem Gambling

Addiction Services is a program funded through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and sponsored by Bluewater Health. The service provides alcohol, drug and gambling assessments and treatment to residents of Sarnia-Lambton.  A unique aspect of this program is specific supports for family or friends who have someone in their life struggling with addiction to substances and/or gambling.  These services are usually accessed through assessment and referral by the Community Addiction Support Services Team.  These services are free of charge.

Addiction Services:

  • Ongoing psychoeducation and relapse prevention support

Family Support

Back On Track Remedial Measures Program Provider – for those convicted of impaired driving

  • Provide initial assessments (over the phone and in person)
  • Deliver the 8 hour education course on site; make referrals to the 2-day treatment course
  • Facilitate follow-up component
