The Pharmacy Department at Bluewater Health is pleased to offer a specialty prescription service. Bluewater Health Pharmacy Care, the outpatient pharmacy, is located inside the Sarnia hospital and is 100% owned and operated by Bluewater Health. We serve the oncology clinic and ambulatory care patients, (urology, iron, etc) allowing patients the convenience of filling their prescriptions at the hospital during clinic hours.
Why use the Bluewater Health Pharmacy Care Prescription Service?
- The service is staffed daily by drug access facilitators and pharmacists dedicated to dispensing prescriptions who will answer any questions or concerns that you may have in a private counseling area.
- One of Pharmacy Care's unique resources is the drug access facilitator (DAF). The DAF is a pharmacy technician who is knowledgeable about drug insurance coverage and the options that are available. The DAF helps patients pursue coverage from their insurance company, government agencies and/or compassionate pharmaceutical programs.
- All of the pharmacists at Bluewater Health are medication experts committed to providing patients with the best possible care. Hospital pharmacists have extended knowledge about oncology medications and can teach you about medication uses, special instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Thorough understanding of the medications patients are taking helps to reduce potential side effects and allow optimal patient care.
